Is Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Worth the Money?
Quick Answer: YES!!
Now let me tell you why! Let’s start with what Aulani is.
Many people tend to think that the Aulani, Disney Resort & Spa has some rides or is like a mini theme park in Hawaii. As cool as that would be, that is not the case. However, before you scratch this off of your list as a place to stay, let me give you a brief snapshot of what you CAN expect.
You arrive in Hawaii and catch the shuttle to the hotel from the airport. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the warm and welcoming service that Disney provides. The resort is right on the beautiful Hawaiian beach and the fresh ocean air is all around you as you come into the resort lobby to begin your magical stay!
Accommodations
The accommodation options vary depending on your price range and size of your party with accommodations as large as a three-bedroom villa. These villas come with a washer and dryer, full kitchen and front living space, they are pretty incredible! You can also choose what kid of view you would like from pool view to beachfront view. These do differ in price, just as a heads up. You can also get some with a balcony which is a great way to enjoy the sunset or wind down at the end of the day.
Pools and Characters
During your stay, the Disney characters are also “on vacation” with you and are dressed in Hawaiian vacation outfits. They will do pool parties with the kids, walk around at meal times, be there for the Lu Au, special appearances at “Aunty’s Beach House” and much more. It is such a fun and unique way to have the kids be able to interact with their favorite characters. There are many amazing pools around the Resort that range from family pools to Adult only pools. There is a lazy river and waterslide that guests can also enjoy. Additionally there is an amazing splash pad and kid area that brings even more fun to your Resort stay. I will need to do a whole post just about the water amenities that this beautiful resort has to offer.
Aunty's Beach House
Also included is an option for the kids is to spend time at Aunty’s Beach House. This is for kids ages 5-12. It is a big kids club that is run by “Aunty.” Here they will do crafts, learn how to hula dance, play games, and much more. Each day is different so each kids will not get bored. There is a “complimentary” allotted time that can be accessed for free, and then there are upgraded options for a fee. These will include a fun adventure with Moana or a fun “Surf’s Up” Party with Max (Goofy’s Son).
Full-Service Spa
This is one of the best things about this beautiful resort! There are options with full spa therapies. These include massages, signature treatments, facials and much more. They even offer Family Treatments that can be done together as a family. There is an outdoor hydrotherapy garden for extra relaxation. There is also full salon services to keep you looking your best. they also have a salon and studio for kids and teenagers to get an island makeover or whatever they may want.
Conclusion
This is honestly a one stop kind of vacation. You really do not need to go anywhere else. They have snorkeling, beach rentals, the spa, pools, food, Lu Au, guided tours, art from Hawaii, and many, many more activities to offer! Disney really has thought of everything, and we didn’t even get to HALF of the things this incredible resort has to offer. If you did want to leave and go explore more of the island, they offer a rental car service right at the hotel! All in all, they usually have some great deals going on outside of the summer months that can make this trip quite affordable. That is what I am here for!
